A new homepage for Aficionado
The new homepage introduces Aficionado through a real, opted-in Profile and makes it easier to create your own.
Privacy, terms, and contact information
You can now read Aficionado’s Privacy notice and Terms, contact Aficionado, request account deletion, and find the rights-holder removal address from every public page.
Login and registration now link directly to Privacy where your email is collected.
Secure sign-in, account menu, and Scrapbook notes
You can now sign in or begin a Scrapbook with a secure email link, without a password.
Choosing a username now clearly tells you when that name is already taken.
Your account menu now shows the @username you’re signed in with.
Personal notes now make better use of the space beside their Works, making Scrapbooks easier to browse.
Profiles, search, and Work details
Profiles now introduce each person with their name and bio first, while keeping their username and Scrapbook options easy to find. You can also sign in or start your own Scrapbook from another person’s profile.
Names and bios support longer text, international scripts, and emoji, with clearer guidance when something needs fixing.
You can delete a Reflection and Meaningful Encounter together from Work details.
Corrections to a Work stay consistent everywhere it appears, and saved Works appear sooner in search.
Book editions are grouped into clearer search results, and you can add several Works in one visit.
You can add Works to your Scrapbook directly from another person’s profile, signing in or registering along the way if needed.
Added a changelog
You can find Aficionado’s latest updates from the footer of every public page.
Richer Work details
Work details now include descriptions and useful information tailored to books, games, films, shows, and albums.
It’s easier to add and edit Reflections, and artwork flows more naturally through each Scrapbook.
Easier-to-browse Work details
Work details are now easier to explore, with artwork and Reflections kept clear and easy to reach.
Manage your Scrapbook in one place
You can add, arrange, remove, and restore Works; update your profile; write Reflections; and record Meaningful Encounter dates directly from your Scrapbook.
Scrapbooks and restored memories
Aficionado now calls your public collection a Scrapbook.
When you remove and later restore a Work, its Reflection and Meaningful Encounter stay with it.
A new look for Aficionado
Aficionado has a colorful new look, with collage-inspired Scrapbooks and handwritten details.
The private beta begins
Registration and public profiles are now available in private beta.
You can search for books, games, films, shows, and albums and add them to a public Scrapbook at your own @username.
